Overview
When new Shell scan results are ready for your review, you'll receive communications only if:
- You had new observations in one or more of your trades, found in the latest scan
- OR you have open observations from previous scans that you have not addressed yet.
You'll receive communications through 2 channels (as long as you have these channels enabled):
- 📧 Email with full details and links
- 📱 Mobile push notification with quick access
You can respond to whichever notification is most convenient based on where you are and what you're doing.
What you'll receive
Email notification
You'll get a detailed email that includes some or all of the details below, depending on what is relevant for you, including direct links to view your results:
- Number of new observations found in the latest scan
- Number of observations still open from previous scans
- Number of items verified and resolved by Siteaware
Mobile push notification
You'll get an instant alert on your mobile device with:
- Quick summary of new findings
- One-tap access to view results in the app
What makes these notifications smart?
You only get notified about work relevant to your company.
- Trade partners: You'll only receive notifications when elements from your assigned trades (like HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.) have new results or open items. If the scan didn't include your trades, and all of your previous observations are closed, you won't get notified.
- General contractors: You'll receive notifications with a complete overview across all trades on the project.
Example: If your company handles HVAC and Plumbing, you'll only be notified when:
- New observations are found in HVAC or Plumbing elements, OR
- You have open HVAC or Plumbing observations from previous scans
How the links work
When you click a link in your email or mobile notification, you'll be taken directly to the relevant results:
From mobile:
- If you have the Siteaware app installed → Opens directly in the app
- If you don't have the app yet → Directs you to download it from the App Store or Google Play
From desktop/laptop:
- Opens the Siteaware web platform in your browser
Already logged in? You'll go straight to your filtered results.
Not logged in? You'll be prompted to log in first, then automatically directed to the right page.
Can I turn off these notifications?
- You need to have appropriate permissions (View Shell Verification access) to receive these notifications.
- For mobile push notification, you need to authorise the Siteaware app to send you push notifications through your device's settings. once approved, you can also control exactly which notifications you see in the app menu
