A key element of Crane Camera Capture is the camera settings applied. Siteaware recommends performing this calibration step once the pod has been hung on the crane hook. Before performing this step, the pod should be prepared for scanning.
- Turn on the remote control and the drone.
- Remove the carrying strap.
- Remove the slings and attach them to the u-bolts.
- Remove the mobile hotspot.
- Open the two round ports at the top and bottom of the box.
- Place the covers and the carrying strap inside the pod.
- Close and lock the pod.
- Hold the crane hook in your hand and hang the four slings on the hook.
- Return to the CaptureApp and on the capture guide select Step 3: Calibrate Camera
- The app will automatically set up the drone for capture.
- Once calibration is successful, complete the Pre-scan checklist.
The ASL elevation is the optimal height for capturing the deck using the crane pod. By default, 50ft above the deck elevation should be used, but Siteaware will also provide an exact number to provide the crane operator. The elevation of the drone can be found at the bottom of the flight screen.
