1.0 Background
Congratulations! You are going to be flying a drone to perform Self-Capture on your Site for Siteawares Construction Quality Assurace Program. Before flying the drone for the first time, you will need to set up a few things to ensure that you can receive all of the necessary information from Siteaware and that the drone is calibrated to capture images per Siteaware’s standards.
2.0 Create a DJI User and Sign In.
2.1 If you don’t have one yet, Create a DJI account.
2.2 Send your DJI username to Siteaware.
2.3 In the DJI Pilot2 app on the drone remote, sign in with your DJI user.
2.4 Your project will appear in the Flighhub service.
3.0 Link the RC Pro Remote to the Drone
Follow the instructions in this video to link the drone to the remote.
4.0 Install the CaptureApp on the Drone’s Remote
4.1: Download the latest .apk file from this folder to a computer.
If an SD Card is already inserted into the computer, skip to Step 2
4.2: Connect the drone remote to your computer using a USB-C to USB-C cable.
4.3: Move the .apk into the file directory on the remote.
4.4: Turn on the remote and enter the file explorer.
4.5: Select the .apk file
The following error may appear, click CONTINUE
4.6: Click INSTALL
A success message will appear to indicate the app has been installed.
If the app icon doesn’t appear on the home screen, long press on the icon and drag it to the home screen.
5.0 Enter the NTRIP Credential
- Siteaware will provide you with the login information for the NTRIP Credentials.
- Turn the drone on and keep it in sky view
- Go to the Camera view in the DJI2 app and open the menu.
- Click on RTK and verify RTK Positioning and Maintain Positioning Accuracy Mode are turned on.
- Enter the NRTIP credentials, when the connection is successful the indicator will turn green and the RTK icon will turn white.
6.0 Set the image format to jpeg
- From the Camera View screen, enter the image settings menu
- From the open menu, confirm that the image format is set to JPG.
- If the image format is not set to JPG, enter the Image Format menu and change the format to JPEG.
