Siteaware provides 3 images for each observation to identify and assist with its correction. Siteaware's observation images utilize a consistent marking methodology to help users in the field understand what actions need to be taken to correct the deviation from the plan.

Layout or Size Observations
For observations where the element is not installed in the plan location or is the wrong size, Siteaware will mark the observation with:
- A dimension(s) containing an arrow denoting the direction the element needs to be moved to correct the observation.
- An orange marker to indicate the current location of the element
- A green marker to indicate the planned location of the element
Example 1: Sleeve
- The dimensions contain a single arrow pointing in the direction that the sleeve needs to be moved to conform to the plan.
- The orange circle represents the element’s current location, and the green circle represents the location it should have been installed.
Example 2: Slab Edge
In the example below:
- The dimensions contain a single arrow pointing in the direction that the slab edge needs to be moved to conform to the plan.
- The thick orange line represents the element’s current location, and the thick green line represents the location it should have been installed.
Example 3: Opening Size
In the example below:
- The dimensions contain a single arrow pointing in the direction that the formwork needs to be moved to conform to the plan. (In this case the outer edges need to be moved inward on all sides)
- The thick orange line represents the element’s current size, and the green line represents the size per the plan.
Clashes
If the clash is caused by the sleeve not being installed in the correct location, see the Layout observation guidelines above.
Example:
If a sleeve is installed in the correct location within the wall but the wall is designed too small:
- The dimensions contain a single arrow demonstrating the required reduction of the sleeve (or widening of the wall) to mitigate the clash.
- The green line represents the “point of clash” (a line that denotes where the clash is happening)
Spacing Observations
If the spacing of an element is not per plan, an additional green dimension will be added to highlight the designed spacing.
Example:
If the embeds are installed closer than called for in the plan:
- The orange dimension denotes the installed spacing.
- The green dimension denotes the design spacing.
- The orange rectangle represents the element’s current location.
- The green rectangle represents the planned location.
Added Scope
Siteaware will flag as Added Scope detected elements installed in the field that were not part of the verification drawings.
Example 1:
In the image below there are 4 sleeves. 2 of them appear in the plan and were verified by Siteaware. The other 2 were noted as added scope and were flagged with yellow boxes to indicate the extra elements.
Example 2:
The plan called for 3 studrails to be installed on the west side of the column. Siteaware detected that a 4th rail was installed and flagged it with a yellow box to highlight the extra rail.
Image 2: The Distance to the Nearest Gridline
To help the field team verify the observation in the field, Siteaware provides a Blue Dimension to identify the distance from the element's installed location to the nearest gridline.
In the example shown below, the blue dimensions show the distance to gridlines B and 8. If the layout shop drawings show the distance from either of these gridlines you can easily identify the deviation and move the sleeve to get it back within tolerance more easily.
Image 3: The Plan Image
The plan image, is a snippet of the plan reference showing the element's location and the nearest gridlines. This helps to provide context on the location of the observation.
