What is the Purpose of this Scan?
To verify that the site survey provided is in alignment with the project surveyor’s measurements.
What is Required?
-
The local origin of the project (i.e. the 0,0 or 1000,5000 location or similar) or the Project survey in .dwg format, located in either the local project system or a global coordinate system (State Plane), control points, and any relevant plan/grid factors
-
[For Texas Projects] The plan/grid factor accounts for the fact the earth is round but we're trying to measure it as if it were flat. This results in slightly varied coordinates for the same point depending on how you're measuring (RTK measured in grid, Total Station in plan).
-
-
The structural/architectural drawings of the current level in .dwg
What will happen on the day of the scan?
-
SiteAware’s operator will arrive on site and Place 4-8 GCPs across the active pour area. A map of the proposed locations will be provided before the day of the scan (see sample below)
-
The GCP stickers will look like this:
-
-
If Siteaware's operator will survey the remainder of the project:
a. The operator will then measure the GCPs with an RTK and perform a standard deck verification scan. -
If the project is utilizing Total Station Readings:
-
The project surveyor will need to measure the GCPs with the Total Station.
-
The Coordinates must include Northing, Easting, and Elevation (x,y,z).
-
The Coordinates should be provided in the following coordinate systems:
-
Project local system (i.e. based on a local 0,0,0 (or 1000,5000 if that’s what the project is using).
-
In the State Plane Coordinate System (NAD83) (If available).
-
-
Please fill out the following Table:

Once captured, provide the Siteaware operator with the data or send it via email to:
A screenshot of the Total Station readout will suffice if the data cannot be easily extracted.
The data does not need to be mapped in CAD for Siteaware.
4. If the project is utilizing Control Line Offsets:
a. Fill out the following table:
